Lidertura Participation in theV International Book Fair LACUHE 2022

The Latin American Cultural Heritage, Inc (LACUHE), launched its V International Book Fair LACUHE 2022, dedicated to the province of La Vega, Dominican Republic, and to the distinguished writer and translator Rhina Espailat.

This event celebrates Latin American heritage, with international writers from Puerto Rico, Cuba, Peru, Spain, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, and Mexico, among others. The multicultural event was held both in person, at the Dominican Commissioner of Culture, in New York City, and virtually through the Zoom platform, and was broadcast live on the official page of the International Book Fair LACUHE, where there was a vast display of talent, including painting exhibitions, book presentations, singing, dancing, and poetry reading.

On Tuesday, April 19, at 5 p.m., the young people from Cereté, members of the first Lidertura’s cycle, had the privilege of participating virtually. They shared parts of their stories, their relationship with writing, and then delighted the public with poetry reading, which was well received by the viewers present at the broadcast on the Facebook page. Within this activity, some members of LACUHE were present: the writer and poet Inés Tejada; the writer and teacher Fiordaliza Ippolito; the person in charge of public relations, Dilcia Rosso; the president of LACUHE, Gladys María Montolio; the President of Lidertura, Samuel Acosta Ynoa; the director of the municipal public library Rafael Milanés García, from Cereté, and María Marcela Rhenals, among others.

This was the first participation of the members of Lidertura in an International Book Fair. This activity was an emotional, enriching, pleasant and timely event for the beginning of their presentations as poets and writers. Without a doubt, the fledgling members of Lidertura demonstrated their talent and good handling of reading their writings with emotion and passion.
